Oh, Listen here mister. We got no way of understandin' this world. But we got as much sense of this bird flyin in the sky. Now there is a lot that bird don't know, but it don't change the fact that the world is happening to him all the same. What I am tryin to say is, is that the course of your life, well its changing, and you don't even see it- Forest Bondurant

Chris Isaak's Baja Sessions has a few covers on it. It's one of my favorite albums, one that never gets old. Not a bad song on it, super relaxing.I disabled signatures.

Lyle Lovett cover of Townes Van Zandt's
If I Needed You with Alison Krauss on subtle harmony.Step Inside This House is the seventh album by Lyle Lovett, released in 1998. In contrast with his earlier albums, populated mostly by songs penned by Lovett, House is a double-length album of cover songs written by fellow Texans.

stumbled across this last week. Nice cover of the late Ronnie Lane's beautiful song April Fool (which is originally found on his duet album with Pete Townshend, Rough Mix).

Good but that is definitely different from the Stryper I knew from the 80's: "Honestly", "Always There For You" and the following tune:
This song which Stryper covered reminds me of a song that Black Oak Arkansas covered at the opening of their set at the Winterland in SF in the early 70's.
The lights were out, the only things visible on stage were the white lights from the Marshall (?) amps when....still dark...Jim Dandy, with his deep voice started into "Silent Night",
A Cappella.
The only sound you could hear when he finished was the sound of peoples' jaws dropping to the floor.
IT..WAS...****ING...AWE ...SOME
Amywho, Stryper's cover of this song is also AOK
🤗✅👍
Turn it up, share with the neighbors
They deserve it or have it coming, either way.
Volume....to....11 ! 💥⚡

Jim Dandy's voice was dandy.
Michael Sweet's voice was
sweet.

I'm usually not one for cover songs but I recently discovered this tune. They have no instruments (which again, usually I do not like....unless it is a superb song/recording) . The band is Club for 5 from their live album "You're the Voice".
It's track 13 "Brothers in Arms (Live). I included the You-Tube video to it but honestly, the recording on Qobuz is much better and on my main rig? It sounds incredible and I have found myself over the past few weeks, listening to it often. The dude has a deep baritone voice and they sang it tight.

If I had never heard Mark Knopfler/Dire Straight's version? I don't know if I would like that one better or not. The two versions (and I'll very well concede that they may *both* be covers) aforementioned in this post are both completely unique. Club for 5 was definitely thinking outside the box with their cover and for once, I really dig this cover. They made the song their own.
Tom~ In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? If I chase it, I might just catch excellence. ~ -

Tom, that Finnish group Club for Five’s cover of Brothers In Arms is special. Of course, Knopfler’s guitar solo is missing but that vocal work is really sweet. Thanks for posting

Yes, ( no pun intended) I watched the video of Jon with Band Geeks and I thought it was better than Yes (official) which were pretty good. Nobody is Jon Anderson except Jon Anderson, however. I’ve seen Jon many times, solo acoustic as well as with a number of others, including Jean Luc Ponty in a small high school auditorium. Jon is always excellent.
