I too would love to have it the timing for myself is not in the cards.

I still use mine in my main two channel system. I would also note that it is not just a SACD/CD player, it's a DAC with USB, Coaxial, and Toslink inputs. And, it has a pretty good headphone amplifier built into it.
Good luck! -

Somebody needs this, it's a very nice player.Political Correctness'.........defined

Wow, seems like a great deal for this particular player. If work circumstances and the world in general were more stable, I'd have bought this from you already!

@kevhed72 I'm thinking about this. Let me do some homework.

Sounds like we're going to proceed with this. Thanks @kevhed72

This bad boy is on it's way to me!

Ruby and this?
Whoa great deal -
Yeah, Ruby not moving. This is for my desktop/headphone setup.
-
Nice Drew ! I was sweating watching this, I've bought enough stuff and had to resist but it was getting harder and harder.
-
Big fan of the Cirrus Logic CS4398 DAC in this unit. I've heard it in three different units now so I know I like it's sound signature.
-
Drew thank you for the purchase and keep me posted.
-
The SA8004 arrived today double boxed and well-packed! Thanks @kevhed72!
Obligatory guts photos:
I don't like stacking gear, but on my small desk I don't have a choice. Pretty good looking stack though:

I haven't actually spun any discs on it yet, just been using the SA8004 as a USB DAC from my PC with .aiff files.
Definitely has a different sound signature to it, even versus the other CS4398 DACs I've heard. Again proving that the implementation of the DAC is more important than the DAC chip itself.
It's not different bad, it's just different. I'm getting used to it. When I first got it it didn't sound great, but now that it's had some time to settle in it's sounding better. I honestly think that the process of shipping a piece of gear disrupts it's electrons or something.
It has a pretty smooth top end that generally avoids any treble harshness even on modernly mastered music, which I appreciate. The bass is quick and agile, maybe even slightly lean. But no real complaints. The midrange seems to have a lot of insight and focus on it, like the Marantz engineers (Ken?) really wanted you to hear what was going on in these frequencies.
Sense of rhythm and timing is good, as is the musicality. It's kept me interested and wanting to play track after track. So far so good.
Thanks again @kevhed72 - I'll put it to good use!
