Time for a haircut?

My last haircut was in September 2019. I was ready for another haircut the end of October, but ended up in the hospital until the Saturday before Thanksgiving. After that it took until January 2020 to get my body back to normal from all the drugs they pumped into me. So, I’m ready for the haircut, but ended up in the hospital for five days at the end of January for a different reason. Anyway, after those drugs wore off the COVID 19 started, and all the haircut venues were closed. LOL

Now they are open by appointment, but I am starting to like my shoulder length hair. At 71 it makes me wonder if I should should just save my money and let it grow. :)

I’m a little disturbed that guy is a) wearing daisy dukes, or b) not wearing shorts at all.

Let it grow, most guys don’t even have hair at 71.

Wife trims mine, but it really needs a pro's hand at some point.

Think of how many rubber bands you can buy (for ponytails) with the money you'll save on one haircut. :o

Meh, don't listen to me, [what's left of] my hair has been above the ears/above the collar for almost 30 years now. COVID-related closures had me frantic! ;)
So, are you willing to put forth a little effort or are you happy sitting in your skeptical poo pile?

Finally had to cut mine myself, with the aid of another mirror, prior to some doctor's appointments. I don't want to really know how bad it looks compared to a professional job. I know it feels a whole heck of a lot better B)

    Fixed it for you
  • Although I have plenty hair, notice how it thins on the head and grows out the ears and nose instead.

I've learned to cut my own hair since the pandemic started. Five cuts now since March. Gotta say, I'm getting decent at it. My wife helped with the 1st cut (the back and top), but all on my own since. That $15 Conair hair cutting kit (clippers/guards/scissors/combs) that I bought on closeout at Walmart 5 years ago has more than paid for itself now. I've also cut my son's hair four times, my daughter's once and my wife's once.

The back is tough to do yourself, but the clippers do most of the work (#5, then 4, 3, 2 at the base of the neck. I usually find one or two spots a day later that I need to clip a little bit more off with the scissors. It mostly looks the same as the stylists from the front view. I'm wearing a hat more often now anyway and really, at this point, who do I need to impress?

I think I can live with this.

Mrs. H cuts mine (what little remains) with electric clippers.

I did manage to take/make the time to trim my beard yesterday. It was gettin' kinda bushy.

On topic, @BlueFox -- unless it's really unruly or hard to take care of (i.e., rinsing out shampoo when you wash it), why not just let it grow.

If you do get it cut, I'd suggest :) seeing if you can donate it to Locks of Love. They collect hair to make wigs for cancer patients. Our son's had his tresses cut a couple of times since his college days, and at least once, that's what he did.

A self administered buzz cut and a hat is all I need. Never did like sitting in the chair while someone waves scissors around my ears anyway.

If loosing your hair let the beard grow out long enough to use it for a comb over. It takes a while but it can be done.
