Hello all, I came across a pair of Polks for sale today. They are monitor 5 with the sl2500 tweeters. I opened them up and found a sticker inside with a build date of 11/06/90, however neither mid has the label which is common on most polk mids.
Does anyone know what mid model number is used in these?

Mw 6502 iirc

Thanks @pitdogg2, I called one of my friends who has some 5Bs and he also confirmed that his speakers have the 6502s. For some reason I thought that they came with 6500s. I wish there was some sort of download with all the monitor models and their respective parts numbers. Is there such a tool?

Nope. Too bad huh? The most recent schematic we have is from 3/21/90 and confirms that the SL2500 was paired with the MW6502 at that time. Schematic is for the 5Jr+ S.

I would ASSume that the earliest Model 5's probably did come with the MW6500 but we don't have any schematics from that early. Must've been a fire???George / NJ

I feel like the original Peerless M5s do have 6500s. That's why you thought that unless I'm off.afterburnt wrote: »They didn't speak a word of English, they were from South Carolina.

I think you're spot on. -

You may be correct as many did. The schematic page only goes back to the original 5B and it has a 6502. -

@krazypolk - I really think that your new avatar (of a certain Minneapolis police officer) is in poor taste and hope that you can see your way to making a better choice.
