Picked up a pair of 2b's this weekend. Cosmetically in pretty good shape. Supposedly the original owner. SL 2000 tweeters, oak tops and bottoms. Has the original interconnect. Have not opened them up yet, but I am pretty sure they are stock. They will be my winter project, or one of my projects. The side panels have come loose. What is the best adhesive to
re-attach them? Power Grab, Liquid Nails or?? Also the cloth on the panels needs to be re-glued in a couple of places. Best glue for that? I will post pics in the next couple of days.

Any of the construction glues would be good for the panels. Aleen's Tacky glue is great for fabrics.Political Correctness'.........defined

I wandered down to Indianapolis Saturday. A friend saw these on a neighborhood garage sale site and snagged them for me. Sold my 12's a few months ago and needed a replacement. Don't know how long I will keep them, but going to go through the usual routine and get them back into shape. I will get in touch with you Dave in regards to some gimpod boards. Still have to open them up to see what things look like. Probably do the tl upgrade with the 198 tweets. Not sure what caps I will use at this point.
Main speakers are still the Zu Dirty Weekends, but I want to mess with these for a few months and see what happens. Listened to the Zu's coupled to 300b monoblocks today and the 2b's hooked to the Rogue Cronus Magnum. Really a different sound between the two. Of course the 2's probably need a recap, but the detail with the Zu's is incredible compared to the 2's. The 2's have a much bigger soundstage. We will see.
And are you still liking the little Dared pre Ivan? The Dared was my first dip into tubes. Since then I have fallen down the rabbit hole. Been holding on to the sides to slow things down. Been doing pretty good......... until this last Saturday. But, I did get the grass cut today. Right around 2 1/2 hours. Done before noon and had a martini lunch with a friend. -
Nice man. If you don't mind me asking, what did you get for your 12s?

$550. Completely redone, including beautiful cherry veneer. In my opinion a real bargain. -
Those are beautiful.
The Dared yes I like it but looking for another tubed pre Bruce. -
I remember them. The best looking 12s I've seen for sure. -

I am currently using an Aric Audio pre. Pretty happy with it. Those are a good deal if you can find one used. They don't come up very often. Check out his website.
