LSi's with a Digital Receiver

I am new to this forum, and new to Polk. I have previously only owned Cambridge Soundworks speakers, and was thrilled to hear the LSi7 speakers and was able to purchase them for only $199 at Fry's. Everything I have read says to use either seperates or a very high power receiver.
I have a Harman Kardon DPR-1001 receiver which is 50 Watts per channel. I know H/K is very conservative compared to other companies power ratings, but I am sure that 50 watts is less than optimal.
H/K says the receiver is fine with 4 ohms. I have done a lot of research on impedance, and most of what I read is that the only major problem is overheating of receivers causing them to shut down / clip. I am not sure if this would be a problem with my receiver because of the digital amps. This receiver is designed totally different to other receivers and does not run hot at all.
With this in mind, do you think I would have a problem with these speakers, or does the low impedance effect the receiver in more ways than heat.
By the way, I intend to eventually purchase the LSiC, and keep my current surrounds. I love the sound of the LSi's, but If I am compromising, I would rather return the LSi's and go in a different direction

I think you should have bought two more pairs of LSi7's and run them all around...I intend to eventually purchase the LSiC
I haven't tried them yet on my AVR7200 other than on surround duty so unfortunately I can't say how it would handle them. -
You'll have to make that ultimate determination. Liston and see what you think.
I've had a bit of experience with the digital amps:
personally, I don't think they have the guts to drive the LSi stuff. Having said that, I've have NOT tried that match up, so cannot make that statement with a 100% level of confidence. HK does rate their stuff conservatively, and they say their digital amps will drive a 4 ohm load, then it will.
Anyway, just listen and let your ears answer your question...I don't think you're gonna do any harm by trying it out... -

Polkmaniac, I have them set up now, and they sound great. Even when I crank them, they don't distort and sound very smooth. I guess my question is if there is going to be a problem, will it develop over time, or rear its ugly head in a loud demanding demo.

Well there's a possibility that the condition of either the receiver or speakers could deteriorate over time...but I doubt it in your situation.
If you have them hooked and all sound well, then it probably is...
Not the direct answer, just my thoughts. It appears that my assertion of the HK not being able to drive the LSi was incorrect...
