ChamplainIs Champlain, champagne?- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit.

Shale Greypics are up
We are getting our porch and steps done as well as a garden wall and entrance/walkway. Having a hard time deciding. The champlain is nice because it matches and catches my eye but the shale is nice because it is classic and if we ever choose to change the color of the front door and garage we have a bigger selection. These stones have not yet been sealed. First pic is under the front window as is the second one, the third is under the front door. -

Man those are too close to call JF. I'd pick right side if I had to.

The one with the brown tones. It compliments the red brick.
The all gray with the bluish-gray swirls is a nice contrast but it'd be....odd looking in a vast swath of porch. Like it was out of place. Especially butt up against the red brick.
Also, the small amount of bluish gray in the brown-tone pavers compliments the entry way as well. It ties the red brick and dark door together. Makes them all look like they belong together.
In the overall picture, it will look more congruent from a distance, like from the street.
There's a lot of truth to the statement from "The Big Lebowski": "I liked that rug. It really tied the room together."Expert Moron Extraordinaire

Fair but we are seeing what others think. This won't decide. But like John posted, he made some good points.

Sounds like your having it professionally done. Porch, steps and walk. They will know how to build it. Only saw the concrete in your photo. I've seen many new steps and walks built with these over bare ground with new back fill, geogrid..., but rarely seen them put on top of concrete next to a dwelling. Just wondering if they will be glued to the existing concrete. Will any gaps be filled to prevent any possible water intrusion or is that area covered to keep water away or is it even a concern? Maybe no basement? It will look very good! -

For sure professionally done. Glued to the concrete and filled with polymetric sand I think it's called. Just so hard to decide which one.
