YES! Went out to dinner yesterday afternoon at a local steakhouse. First time eating out since mid March. Half the tables were taped off, and staff wearing masks (feel-good health department orders). Food was great, as was the service. We tipped 50% of the meal cost, as the server tips will be drastically cut with half the tables...:-(

Also never thought I’d say this, but it is nice to be getting stuck in traffic again!

I think that people are done with all this nonsense, and hopefully this wave of returning to normal picks up enough speed that it becomes permanent.

Tennessee is opening up mostly. Some cities that have high rates of Covid are still locked down. Sure will be happy when this is over.

We here in Pa are slowly going to be opening up in June. I'm back to work in June which is nice.
I'm actually not looking forward to all things normal as I don't want this to happen again. This was a very bad few months. What I am hoping for is we do this right safe and smart.
Generally speaking people can react pretty poorly especially when restricted for such a long period of time. I for one have had those moments of just wanting to let go but keeping a level head I think is the smartest thing to do.
I won't be eating at any restaurants for a very long time or going back to the Gym when it opens. Necessary tasks will be taken slowly and smart.

Not trying to be a downer over here just not wanting to repeat the least 3 months of my life.

Things are starting to get back to some kind of normalcy around here as well. I still wear a mask in high traffic areas, Grocery Stores, etc. Wife and family demand it, as I have "Under lying Health Issues" what ever that means ;)

We went out to our favorite Pizzeria for lunch the other day. First meal we've had out of the house for close to three months. It was a feeling of freedom, just to have lunch out.

I think we’re still in lockdown in L.A. county. Probably until the end of July. Out of 3,750 deaths in California, almost 75% are in the L.A. bassin. In deaths per million, California ranks about 30th of all the states, similar in numbers to Germany (95 per million).

Most things here have been possible. Grocery shopping keeps getting better, and the only real shortages are the tissue issue (bathroom tissue), sanitizer and masks. Take out has always been possible. Car repairs, gardeners, hardware stores are all working and open. Like @mantis, we won’t eat out until things improve significantly, but we’ll continue to order take-out from those nicer restaurants where we normally would eat out (and there’s been a healthy demand there, seemingly).

It’s noticeable that there’s more traffic though, so people are going out more to somewhere. Also, there was a short line at the sandwich store today for the first time, with two employees present instead of just the owner. The parking lot has had about four cars and fifteen empty spaces lately, but today it was the opposite.

Overall, it’s been great. Some people are eager to get back to work. They just can’t handle being stuck at home for whatever reason. A company wide survey revealed that 7% nationwide want to return to working at their office. The company is now reviewing whether or not it’s worth maintaining such large offices in premium locations like the 777 Tower on Figueroa. Nobody is furloughed in our businesses.

San Diego is opening up a bit, Casino's are opening but the line to get in is an hour +.

I did notice more traffic on the 805 all week good to see people going back to work.

Our office is making people come in for some reason. They were all working from home just fine but now have to come in. Sucks I now have to turn down my tunes. I was enjoying no one around. We've already been told that next week we get our reviews there will be no pay raise. gee at least let the people who can work from home save on gas.
When I was a kid my parents told me to turn it down. Now I'm an adult and my kids tell me to turn it down.

In Silicon Valley companies are considering making working from home permanent. Or at least having people only occasionally come in. If this happens it will change the real estate market since the large, grandiose office buildings will no longer be needed. Additionally, people can start living further away if they don’t need to come in to an office. The times are changing because of this virus. Buckle up and hold on.
