Polk 70 Series 2 Muffled Sound (Crossover/Tweeter)

Unsure how to troubleshoot much further. Both speakers are now muffled (worked great for years), and keep to have no Highs. Speakers were being used for home theater, however after a karaoke evening, I think someone was a bit loud and they stopped working right. Would this more likely be blown tweeters (they look fine) or a burnt out crossover (also visibly look fine). I did try a direct connect from receiver to dismounted tweeter (no sound) and to a main driver (audible sound). If this would be a tweeter issue that is an easy fix, if it's the crossover, what and where would I look to replace them? Thank you very much for any direction and help!

You already figured out the problem.
I did try a direct connect from receiver to dismounted tweeter (no sound) and to a main driver (audible sound).

Thank you. I figured I may have, but was not sure if the tweeter would generate anything audible without passing through the internal crossover. I feel a bit daft now... lol! Thanks again!
