I replaced the 18awg power cable on my VTF3 with a 16awg from a computer. I went to best buy and got a Audioquest to test it out for the most part there was no difference between the 3. The 16awg stayed. The computer power cords I use are from engineering workstations so they are not the el cheapo ones.
When I was a kid my parents told me to turn it down. Now I'm an adult and my kids tell me to turn it down.

I use a PS Audio power cord on all my subs. I couldn't tell you if they make a difference as I've never used the stock cords.

I am running PS Audio AC-5 cables on my PC4000s. I ran them from day 1 so did they upgrade the experience? Who knows.
I knew I would eventually do it so I ordered the cables at the same time.

One upgraded I can comment on Is going to AQ XLR connections from my 7705 to the subs. It did make a huge difference.
I heard it immediately and once I recalibrated the system it was even better. I had to turn down the subs 6db to get them balanced with speakers.
I am guessing going from 1.2 volts on the RCA connections to 2.4 volts withe the XLR cables had something to do with it.
In the end it sounds less stressed in high bass scenes.

Yes I do, I run audioquest NRG-X3's. I use upgraded power cords on everything that has a removable power cord.

FWIW I have passive subs, so I have pro amp driving them.

Noticeable difference when using a PS Audio AC-3 on them v the stock cord.....

Its on my short list of upgrades but am still running the stock ones on my Rel's. I have dedicated 20-amp circuits for each of them but haven't got to the power cables yet.

It's so true for me. I don't ever use the factory cords and I've done shootouts so many years ago with power cables I don't bother anymore. I get a new piece of gear and it gets a new power cable. Honestly anymore I just like controlling the length of the power cable then looking for any performance gains.

I wonder how many people don't use upgraded power cords especially on this forum.

I purchased a DAC a few months ago, and it didn't include a Factory Power Cord. The Mfg. knows that most, if not all of their customers will use an aftermarket cable.

I purchased some wire and connectors to make up a Power Cable. My first attempt at a DIY Cable
