Polk Audio Subwoofer PSW110

My subwoofer has just started making a continuous tick tick pause tick tick pause tick tick pause sound. I have disconnected it from the amp and tried the different switching modes to no avail. I have had this since new in 2011.

I should change the noise it makes to popping sounds. Sometimes it is loud and other times it is quite. It still makes them when the main amp is turned off.

The plate amp has failed. Time to buy a new sub.
