Looking to mod my SDA SRS'

So I've had my stock SDA SRS' for around 12 years and finally want to modify them. I figure that I would start with doing tweeters but am curious if I should get 198's or 194's. I know 198's would require modification of my crossovers but these are my favorite speakers and the extra money would be worth it for me to get the best sound possible out of these speakers. As of now I have one tweeter that I got for cheap off of eBay but I do not know which it is as these darn things don't have any marking on them. So I guess my questions are:

How can I tell the two models of tweeter apart?

What does everyone suggest as far as mods (besides tweeters)?

Thanks for any input

If you have the original 2nd/3rd generation SRSs, they cannot be modified to allow use of the RD-0198-1 Tweeters. The correct and only replacement for your SRSs, is the RD-0194-1 Tweeter

What westmassguy said, you can only use the RD0194.

Is there any way to tell if I have a 198 or a 194?

You have the original SL2000. The only replacement is the RD0194. For other mods start searching here, there's tons of info.

This thread has many different pictures of 194 & 198 tweeters.
Possibly you can use it to see what you have.

Aren't the electrical connections on the back side different between 194 and 198? One has two tabs the same size, one has a big tab and a little tab?

Thanks for the responses you guys. I know that I have SL2000's in my SRS' but I'm trying to figure out if the tweeter I bought awhile back off eBay is a 194 or 198. Is there a way to tell via MM reading or can someone shed light on which one has different sized tabs?

The RD-0194-1 should be around 6.5 ohms, the RD-0198-1 around 5.4 ohms. The 1RD-0194-1 has identical 0.110 tabs, while the RD-0198-1 has a 0.110 tab on the +, and a 0.205 tab on the -.

Thanks for that info westmassguy. It looks like I have one 194 then. I'll now put in an order for 7 more from midwest and look into what else can be done to make my SRS' sound as good as they can.
