PM sent regarding Red Rivers. Currently running Diamondbacks, but does anybody know how these compare?
-
They are very similar. The Diamondback used Solid perfect surface conductors back then. They used very nice terminations in cold weld which Audioquest still uses today. The Red Rivers are a Solid Long grain copper but have updated dielectrics and updated noise rejection.
I never side by side tested the Diamond backs vs the Red Rivers but by lookin over specs they should give you a slightly lower noise floor. In a perfect non EMI RF environment they would be very close in performance.Dan

Well @mantis I'm wondering when the changed them. I remember when they first came out Audioquest listed them as long grain copper. On Audioquest's site they now list as perfect surface copper.
https://www.audioquest.com/cables/analog-interconnects/river-series/red-river
So if they are PSC the only difference between Diamondback and Red River would be the air tubes in DB and the RCA ends. The Red River does not use air tubes.

Thats a good question as I thought they where a long grain copper conductor. I just read that link you posted and according to audioquest's website they are solid perfect surface copper conductors.Dan

Are the pair of Audioquest Makenzie cables still available? If so, I'll take them.
I also need another pair of interconnects. Might that single Makenzie have a partner? -
