Magnifi Max SR have to hit HDMI 1 on after turning it on.

I just got the Magnifi Max. I have my Xbox one plugged into HDMI 1 on the bar then the my HDMI ARC port on my tv from the bar. With everything off, I turn on the Xbox and the tv powers on and the orange light on the bar comes on but no picture from the Xbox. I have to hit HDMI 1 on the remote. Is this by design or is there a setting I need to change?

depends on TV I think. TV powering on may cause bar to switch to ARC even if the TV isn't sending audio
