It's probably been over 20 years since I/we ate at a McZargalds. More, I'm sure -- probably not since the kids were young.

Back in the late 1980s, Mrs. H's sister & brother-in-law lived in this hyper-swanky enclave near San Diego. Their property backed up onto -- Joan Kroc's.
The McDonald's in that town was -- remarkable. As I recall, it had terrazzo floors, granite counters and tabletops-- and a very large dinosaur sculpture thing in the middle of it.

You sure the wasn't Chuck E. Cheese?
-
oh, I went to one of those. Once.
-
Horrible place

Chuck E. Cheese is a giant booger infested petri dish and I am pretty sure the pizzas have E coli.

That's why they sell beer and wine at Chuck E Cheese.
Only way anyone over 10 can stand to be in there.

Anyone remember Showbiz Pizza Place? Far superior to that rat infested (literally) Chuck-e-Cheez!!
Or here's one for yooz who grew up in the Chicago burbs...remember the "Ground Round"....I think that was the name. -
I loved the Ground Round. They weren't exclusive to Chicago. Didn't seem to last that long though. The best way to predict the future is to invent it.

We had a Ground Round here in Vermont (It seems there still is one, too). I just searched and apparently they are based in Maine.

I remember Shoney's used to have a "Half Pound of O'Ground Round" plate."Sometimes you have to look to the past to understand where you are going in the future"Anger is just anger. It isn’t good. It isn’t bad. It just is. What you do with it is what matters.

Ground Rounds were common in MA when we moved there (early 1990s). There was one in Cambridge right by the Fresh Pond rotary. Used to drive by it every day way back when (when I worked in the People's Republic of Cambridge).
Last time I noticed, the site was occupied by a Chipotles... but my attention is usually focused on the massholes abusing the rotary when I pass through there.

Had no idea Ground Round was still in business. I see Toledo, OH has one. If I had some body armor I would visit. The best way to predict the future is to invent it.
