Dear people,
My post probably falls into a Newbee category and some might not feel interested to reply, in which case please ignore.
I have a Hi-Fi setup for the past 5 years with the following hardware:
AV Receiver: Marantz SR6006
Front: RTi A7's
Centre: TSK150C
Surround: Rti A1's
Sub: PSW110
Cable: Van Damme 268-525-060 Blue Series Studio Grade UPOFC Classic Pro Loudspeaker Cable 2 X 2.5mm TWIN -AXIAL
Subwoofer cable: RCA readymade cable from Cambridge audio (3M).
Room Size: Size of the room is about 20 X 14 Feet with no carpetting (Hard mosaic floor) and I used the system to watch movies, listenning music and to play video games.
However, I never did get any mentionable performance from my sub woofer since I got the system and it has been sort of lying around.
Problem:
Couple of days ago I had an all nighter and fall asleep while keeping the system turned on and when I woke up in the morning, the AV Receiver has been acting up! The receiver powers on with the help of a remote every single time, but pressing the button on the receiver sometimes brings the power, sometimes it doesn't.
Sometimes the receiver would turn on but the display won't get any signals!.
When the Marantz does turn on, I get very low noise in all the speakers. I have disconnected the surround speakers, but now I can see that there is virtually no sound on my FRONT LEFT speaker even when I turn up the volume up to 85-90.
During this time, with the whole world being locked down I dont think I can get it checked any time soon, so any tips/ tricks to to fix the problem would be greatly useful.
Another question I have is regarding the output capability of the receiver and the required power to run the Rti A7 - Is the Marantz SR 6006 receiver good enough to power my 5.1 setup with the afforementioned speakers? Or, do I need to get a Power amp?
Last but not least, given that it may be too expensive to fix the Marantz SR6006, I may choose to get another AV receiver. Can anyone suggest a suitable model of AV receiver and a Power AMP for my speakers with either of the below configurations?
Configuration 1:
New AV receiver - Bi amping the front Speaker outputs and use only one device to power my 5.1 setup (If its do-able)
Or,
Configuration 2:
a) New AV Receiver - 2 X RTi A1 , 1 X TSK105C, 1 X PSW110.
b) 2 Channel Power AMP (Reasonable budget) - Rti A7 (Bi-amp if necessary / required)
I am sorry, a lot of my questions maybe very basic, in which case I do apologize guys!!
Really need the advice here
Thanks and regards
Rommel

Welcome to Club Polk (CP)😊
A Denon or another Marantz, w/pre outs - at a minimum the LR. Typically, IF the AVR comes w/pre outs, you’ll get LCR and, likely, 1 pair of surrounds. To that end...
RTi A7s* like power. I checked your existing, albeit malfunctioning, AVR’s specs
https://www.soundandvision.com/content/marantz-sr6006-av-receiver-ht-labs-measures
and it’s sorely lacking to drive 5 channels well. Using those* as LRs... The A7’s sweet spot is a robust** 100+WPC. (Check my sig*)
**lots of headroom and/or high current
I’m NOT trying to sell you an amp but in another day or two I’m posting 2***/3 amps that will drive them* w/out breaking a sweat. In fact, w/an amp, I think you will prefer them* set to Large.
***two: Belles, 100 WPC; the other Parasound 1000A ,125 WPC

Listening to music, I drove them* full range, unmodified w/ the Belles - it “lifts them off the ground” 😊 but I think you’ll like the P’sound better
I have other suggestions but they’re pointless w/a broke AVR. Wait for others to reply.
