Hello everyone,
Anyone watch this show? Is it me or is this shot dark as F*&K?

Yes, cinematography and subject matter are gloriously dark...!"Conservative Libertarians love the country, progressive leftists love the government." - Andrew Wilkow

I just said the same thing to Bev tonight. Lots of dark scenes, strange.Source: Bluesound Node 2i - Preamp/DAC: Benchmark DAC2 DX - Amp: Parasound Halo A21 - Speakers: MartinLogan Motion 60XTi - Shop Rig: Yamaha A-S501 Integrated - Shop Spkrs: Elac Debut 2.0 B5.2

The dark shots are an intentional choice to help set the tone for the show. I remember reading an article about it with quotes from someone on the show, maybe director of photography or something like that. They wanted the show to have a distinct and recognizable look, and I think they achieved that.
Finished season 3 last night. What a fantastic series. So many shows are good enough to keep going, because why not. But this is one of the few that seems to keep getting better in my opinion. It feels like the series hasn't even found the peak of it's story arc yet. I find a lot of 1 hour episode dramas to start to feel like work after a season or two, but this one has me ready for more.Analog: MoFi MasterTracker > MoFi UltraDeck > Sutherland 20/20

It's highly intentional to help set the tone of the story. Lots of good quotes on their choices to do so: https://decider.com/2018/08/30/why-ozark-is-so-dark/

An excellent Series and great story line. But, being a native Missourian ( in fact I rode my motorcycle to the Lake of the Ozarks today) I just wish they wouldn't portray everybody in the area to be a Hillbilly Redneck, toothless, crack smoking, beer guzzling, thieving, murdering fools.

I agree what a finale!
I actually wouldn't be surprised if this delays a lot of shows from all networks. Why would Netflix tie up revenues in contracts that have no way to set production timelines. I'm sure they will renew it, but it might not be official for a few months.Analog: MoFi MasterTracker > MoFi UltraDeck > Sutherland 20/20

I was born in north east Arkansas. Been to that lake many times as well as Petit Jean mountain in the Ozarks. Nice area. So being a Missourian, guessing you remember Dogpatch USA?--Gary--

Yes, I've taken my kids there when they were little, shame it closed down. Later generations had never heard of Li'l Abner I guess.
I use to hitch hike down to Bagnell Dam when I was a kid, some fifty plus years ago, and hit the Dogpatch Arcade amoung other spots.
Things have certainly changed over the years!

They could leave a lot of that sick cra p out of the series and still be good. So if what some call Dark to me it's flat out SICK! Other than that it's entertaining for sure.
