My 3rd pair of Mephisto's and have to say they're among the most comfortable and well built kicks on the planet. Anyone else hip?? Plus my music sounds better when my feet are happy and these things make Mehsisto Horny!

I like those shoes. They look great. I like a certain style of Ecco shoes that have Gore Tex that I buy over and over. I think I will look at some like yours for the summer months. I have a narrow heel and I have to be very choosy about the brand. How do the shoes run size wise? I like to take care of my feet.

I was reminded of this song when I wrote "those shoes".

Mephisto run pretty true to the size. I'd say if you are a 9..look for a 9M US. And just add M to any number and ya should be happy.

And love that tune. A short lived group I was in back in the mid 90S in Mpls. did the song.

    The Jungle Mocs are cool.

Mephisto is moving on up the Shu-Chain a few levels. No deals need to be made with and devil's but for those wanting real comfort/support will probably dig the Phisto's.

Might be too hip for me -- but I am gonna look into 'em.
The Mephistos, that is -- anything Walken is too cool for me by definition.

So... which style are those? Their selection is bewildering!
EDIT: ne'er mind; found 'em. :)

Some interesting stuff here. Disco clothes so it's music related.

    Verb,
I had some platform shoes similar to those in the left corner above. The soles were not as thick and the two leathers were closer colors - not as much contrast.

I got a similar pair from Duluth Trading 'cause they were insulated. I got them so I could wear them impromptu when I had to take the trash out in the rain and didn't want to get my house slippers all wet and funky.

I wear them now more than any other shoe I own. I got the ones from Duluth Trading because they were all leather and have worn very well because of it.

I did get new boots, though. I've finally worn through the soles on my 10 year old Wolverines and they hurt to wear anymore. Because they are hiker style work boots, though, can't really repair them like a full leather work boot. But those kinds of boots don't do well in the brush where most of my work necessitating safety gear like steel-toed boots happens. So I had to get a new pair. New Wolverines, of course. They showed up yesterday, I gotta try them on, make sure they fit.

Here are the Ecco shoes that I have purchased twice in the past 8-9 years. My favorite shoes. I watched the price on them and was able to get them at a really great price after New Years.

I’ve had a couple pair of Ecco. Comfortable. None presently. Since I’m retired, it’s mostly running shoes for walking, or hiking boots. Current Hoka One One are very comfortable. The salesperson at REI brought them out since they were on sale. Almost time to replace them.

Is walking whilst wearing running shoes analogous to commuting in a Lamborghini?

Mephisto shoes are great! I've had one pair for 30 years. They've been returned to Mephisto for resoling and "refreshing twice. They come back looking and felling like new shoes. I have a second pair that are the boat-shoe style ("Hurrikan"?). I bought them at least 15 years ago -- probably 20 years ago. They've been resoled and refreshed only once. They still look new. Mephistos are cost a lot upfront, but they are not expensive, if you buy styles that persist and take care of them, including resoling and refreshing the "cost per year" is pretty good.

Not too many companies actually advertise “walking” shoes, @mhardy6647 . But, yeah, most performance cars are actually used to do more mundane things like commute.
