    I've been letting these play with a brief overnite gap because of some unforeseen internet stoppage....The DMD tweets are settling in. Out of the boxes these are some nicely tuned speakers.

    I set them up with Audessy last nite in H/T mode and tested them for a bit and will do some tweaking there later... Ausessy set the whole front stage as "Large" and I will toggle/tweak that manually.

    Incidentally I always got a "Phase" error in the fronts with the Polks and do not have that anymore... I know others have reported that too but it was just an annoyance to see that knowing your wiring was good and correct.

    My reason for getting these was to please my 2 channel desires and i am very happy with the way these are coming around. Only about another 160 hours to go for full break-in.

    just confirmed with the distributor that usher went back to mdf bases because it sounds better than cast iron.

    Congrats on the new speaks! They are dynamite with the diamond tweeter! On s side note, what's your take on the Mytek Brooklyn+ DAC. That's actually on my radar as a possible new DAC.

    The Mytek is incredible and paired with the Lumin U1 mini is a great combination... If you read up on the Mytek site they highly recommend an external LPS. Mytek also has a newer product called the Brooklyn Bridge which has a built in streamer... Looks like a winner but I haven't heard it. You can give them a call and chances are you speak to the guy who designed it and he'll answer questions you didn't even know you had.

    @Mikey081057 I bought mine some time ago, I did supplement them with a pair of Rhytmic subs though they didn't need em. Phenomenal speakers for the money.

    Got about 80 hours so far on the Ushers...And with the current issues we are living through I can't think of a better thing to do then listen to some music and relax a bit. They seem to be settling in nicely.

    I agree with @afterburnt 's above comment regarding the need for a sub as I have been listening to them without and with a few tweeks in positioning the bass is more than adequate for me for 2 channel listening.

    I am liking the synergy with my old Parasound A21 as it provides plenty of power to drive the MD-2's and doesn't add any flavor to the sound.... I have always found the A21 to be neutral to slightly warm and that mates well with the Ushers. Might not work for everybody but it works for me for now.

    I have set up the DC triggers between the devices as well as the Harmony remote to turn on/off between all the different modes between TV,BDP,2channel and computer and all is fine....

    I think I'll watch a blu-ray this afternoon.

    Just an update to this thread...

    I was not satisfied with the Usher MD-2's finish... There were some flaws that I brought to the attention of @DSkip and Fred from Katli audio... They agreed to replace them with a new pair and I am ecstatic to report that I received them a few weeks ago and they are PERFECT....Had to wait for a new shipment to arrive from Taiwan. I returned the other ones and anyone interested in a pair of MD-2's that have some finish defects should contact Fred of DSkip for a real bargain.
