I looked into that years ago and never was able to find that material.Political Correctness'.........defined

Probably polyurethane or polyethylene sheeting or something like a Melmac or Corian composite sheet that would be hard to get for a consumer due to cost outside of a bulk purchase and has just fell out of use and disappeared from the market because newer polymers are cheaper and more durable.Expert Moron Extraordinaire

If you can accommodate its thickness, Tolex can also be used. It comes in different texture patterns.Home Theater/2 Channel:

The only issue I've seen with Tolex is that as it ages and dries out, the vinyl separates from the cloth backing and peels and cracks. It doesn't really like UV either.
Those textured contact papers, though, they'd do the trick and look very similar to what's already there.
If the covering on the speaker is in good shape, you can remove the damaged part with a razor and then fill the divot with a vinyl or polyester filler (Bondo) and sand it smooth. Clean the rest with a tack cloth and acetone or denatured alcohol and then cover the whole thing in one contiguous sheet of the contact paper. That would give a nice even look with no seams to peel and curl and it wouldn't matter if it matched exactly because you covered all of it, not just the repair section.Expert Moron Extraordinaire

I was searching everywhere online for somthing that would fit the bill. Then I remembered a buddy of mine owns a vinyl business. I stopped over his place and he gave me some matte black vinly. I went home like a little kid at xmas and got started. It took less than 45 minutes to apply and i way more than took my time to be sure not to mess it up. This stuff is execellent quality and went on nice and easy. I must say it looks great. The name brand is AVERY DENNISON. I am more than pleased with the results. I also picked up some 1/2" mdf and cut and routered the sides to match my big polks. I just need to wrap them and glue some oak to them. I will also get some solid oak for top and bottom of this cabinet and they will match my big polks perfect.

Also i will build the grill once the sides and top and bottom are on. It will sit just like the big polks being recessed in and flush with the top and bottom.

Very nice work. Were you able to find the little 6.5" passives?Home Theater/2 Channel:

Is this the center channel speaker you wanted to make? A separate thread of yours in January. Very nice work!

It is. I seen Westmassguy built one and it looks awsome. When I saw it I leaped into action ahahah. Ive wanted one voiced to match my big polks for a while, I borrowed most of his design and slightly tweaked the cosmetics of the cabinet. Hopefully later today if i have the time i will get the crossover and drivers in it. I have to unwind the inductor a little to get the proper indudctance from it before hand. One of my inductance meters isnt very accurate and my tektronix type 130 needs a little love before its up to the task. Hopefully i can get it together sooner than later. -

I hope so. Pretty excited to get it together. How did you measure your inductor to get the correct value?. My cheap meter reads it at 31.6mh. Im not sure if they just didnt get it perfect at the factory or my meter is reading it incorrectly. -
I use a meter that measures inductance. Typo? It should be 3.1mH, not 31.6mH. If it's 3.16, it's within 2% and should be fineHome Theater/2 Channel:

I unwound it till I had about 30.6mh. I figured id rather be off by a little lower than higher ( let some more voice through than less). I put it all together and am listening to it now. I put the poly from the original cabinet behind the mw like it was in the original cabinets. I unplugged the sda cable on the srs and wired the center inplace of my left speaker. I stood it up on end and sat down.. it was a bit in front of the left sda so i had to slide over to the right just a little to get on the sweet spot. WOW!!! This center sounds great . Actually very well balanced and impressive on the low end. Its funny because even by itself it seems to pressurize the room better than the pair of 5jr I stripped for it did. But efficiency wise it has to be very close to the big polks. I have a spl meter so I gues il have to check. So far I love it and it seems to match perfect. I listen some more the next couple days and let you guys know. Thanks again to Westmassguy for sharing that build 👍 -
Current mess, also i know the speaker on the outside are not doing thes polk any favors.
