I would think the R-N803 would be adequate to drive them if that is the receiver that you are talking about. I have a bottom of the line R-N303? and I think it's pretty nifty. If you get the R-N803 I sure would like to hear your thoughts on how you like it or not.

I was reading up on the LSiM703 speakers recently and the Stereophile review said that they are presenting a load closer to 4 ohms so, whatever amp or integrated you decide to go with, your power amp should be able to handle a 4-ohm load without issues. Another thing to consider is if you like things to sound bright/forward or warm/recessed. Emotiva is a great amp is you want a forward sound and should fit into your budget for a preamp + amp. If you want a warm(er) sound, Parasound may be a good idea. There are a lot of brands out there and they all sound different. For example, the NAD integrated in my signature will pair very well with the 703's and the combo will give me what I am looking for from those speakers.

    Good luck!

@halo Yamaha list specs for 8/6/4/2 ohms does that mean the amp will comfortably do all that? I never pay attention to numbers, smoke always gets my attention though.

@afterburnt, yes, I should think it will handle the low ohm rating just fine if it is rated all the way down to 2 ohms.

I had a pair of electrostatic hybrid speakers back in '06 and they were very demanding of amplifiers. I purchased an amp made by the same company that made the speakers and I never had an issue even though the demands of the ESL panels could change quite abruptly and rapidly. @SCompRacer had the same speakers and amplifier(s) and he is far more tech savvy.
