    While the light from the supernova will reach us around 600 years after it happens, the actual blast wave will never reach us as it dissipates over time/distance.

    The radiation burst will travel below the speed of light and will take considerably longer to reach us. Not to mention things like the Van Allen Belt, the Oort Cloud and other objects in space will help "soften" the radiation blow.

    We will hafta wait and see.

    yes I love it over the red dot finder that came with it..with the tel-rad book it makes sky search for stuff so much easier :) my scope is the 9.25 ..I also have a 10 inch dob and a 8 inch dob...for manual surfing the skies

    Oh no ****???? I did not hear that theory. So I wonder if the brightness and the gravitational waves could have been the two stars colliding???? It would have been over 600 years ago....????

    It's crazy cause if you walk out and look at it now, you can definitely tell it is considerably dimmer. Before it could easily be mistaking for mars. Not its pretty dim.
