There was a small video about the making of 1917 on the Golden Globe Awards show, I think it was.
They showed how intense the design and lighting angles were for the miniature model landscapes and city buildings right down to the time of day shooting should take place.
All before the first scene was shot, the directors and set designers made certain the life-size sets were exactly like the modeling in the pre-production stages were. DETAILS!
It was an AWSOME pictorial of how much the directors went into the smallest detail to get their visions onto the final take of filming. The Trenches, the windows, the LONG filming takes/shots was amazing to see from drawing board to filming. IMPRESSIVE.
I'll definitely watch it one day!Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them. -
So we seen the movie last night.
Absolutely loved it! Not quite what I expected, and not to give anything away, but a great story of the essence of human struggle and perseverance, amidst the tragedy and horrors of war.

Is it just a war movie, or is there more to it?
Not a traditional war movie in the sense of non-stop battle scenes, but more of the odyssey of a soldier in the midst of war, trying to stop a tragedy. It's cheaper to buy them anymore than to go see it at the theater anymore, that is if you think it will be a repeat watch. I just ordered it looking forward to watching it, the reviews seem good plus the cinematography is suppose to be awesome plus most war movies give the HT a good work out.
