I'd get 3 more RD-0198 fast as they are vastly superior to the SL3000. I love my highly modified 2.3tl's they will never leave my room.

Just finished listening to Billy Thorp’s Children of the Sun, wow That’s a must have for SDA fans

Enjoy them and let us know let us know your impressions as you get more hours on them.
btw, just curious: what city/state did you end up getting the speakers from?
Unfortunately (for me) there have been a few nice pairs listed on various sites in the last year but all seem to be in TX or CA.
Your correct that’s what I have been seeing as well, they were in San Diego, they had been on EBay for almost 30 days, and local pickup only. I had been watching and wishing and finally got some Extra cash as a Christmas present and jumped on them.
Taylormark, you mentioned that you acquired the 2.3tl's in San Diego with a 4 hour drive. Do you live north or east from there? I'm outside of Los Angeles and I also have some 2.3tl's in arguably the same condition as yours, along with 6 or 7 other sets of SDA's.
Welcome to the forum, lots of great guys here.
Thanks for the welcome!
I am North of LA, sounds like a nice collection of Polks -

I have reached out to the seller about these but with the holidays upon us it has been difficult to make it out to see them. Perhaps when I get back from Vegas next week. Hope that they still might be available.
I hope you’re able to make it happen. For that price point it’s hard to beat. I paid $350 for mine and thought that was a good deal. Just make sure to use a “high current amp” my restored HK 780 claims to be 150 watts at 4 ohms with 60 amps of current, works pretty well at reasonable volume levels. -

Yes I have, and thanks again for your recommendations on the 2.3tl’s they have a good home and I am loving it !! -
Ps, I have the little brothers to those as well.
Nice, so you’re familiar with the emit tweets, now just imagine about 3 time the bass.
Wish I was closer to LA, I would grab them for ya ..
Have to tell you I was really disappointed in the infinity iiib until I found the right amp. I even had them on Craig’s list for a couple of weeks. -

The ones offered locally are in need of surrounds without a doubt. However they also need the foam around the tweeter and mid driver. Any idea as to how to remedy that?
The surrounds shouldn’t take long, just make sure you connect the Speakers back correctly or your bass will be really week.
I would imagine there’s nothing magical about the foam. Kind of reminds me of the backside of the mousepads we used to get back In the day when mice had balls (That just doesn’t sound right). Will need to redo mine soon.
