Looking for a pair of bookies for my son's gaming system

Specifically, a pair of Athena AS-B1 speakers or their larger siblings, the AS-B2. Anybody have a pair tucked away? I found the matching center local & purchased the AS-B1 bookies on eBay only to have them arrived damaged because of piss poor packing.

Conversely, a pair of bookies & matching center of a different brand would work. The trick is going to be keeping it cheap. If things had worked with the Athenas I'd have been into them for a shade under $120 for all 3. I'd go more than that for the right matching LCR, but $200 is the max.

Watcha got?

Dave - I may have something that could work. And, I'll be in Harrisburg in two weeks, so a bit closer to you. I have a pair of Polk RT35i bookies that are pretty beefy. They're not perfect (think the vinyl is peeling a little around the baffle, but not too bad). I also have a small center (I think it's the CS245i. However, I think there is an issue with one of the drivers in it. I think it may be replaced. I got these to use for outdoor movie night, and IIRC, the center was crackling here and there.

You can have them if you think they'll work. Consider it a karma for the holidays as another thanks for the generosity given to my in my WTB post for a CD changer.

I'll double check tonight and get some pictures if you're interested.

We have a pair of the AS-C1, the Center speaker with 2 woofers and tweeter between them.

Used them as a stereo pair, sound similar to the AS-B1, but with 2 woofers, a bit less deep bass, but more clarity.

Shipping might be steep, they are somewhat heavy though.

FYI the AS-B1 is the earlier version, AS-B2 the later inferior small bookshelf version (thinner cabinet, and cheaper tweeter that looks identical from the front)

We have owned a few of both versions. The later uses like 1/2" Mdf, and the earlier close to 3/4"....you can hear the difference if you rap on them.

"B" stands for Bookshelf, and the B1 B2 signifies what version.

"C" stands for Center and the 1 and 2 which version...early or later.
