PCM or Bitstream

Recently purchased a Magnifi Max which I have connected to an LG C9 tv set, I am also using an Amazon Firestick. Our local cable/internet provider has gone completely wireless so everything streams through the Amazon Firestick. I have two questions:
1) The LG TV will either output audio through the HDMI cable in PCM or Bitstream. Which is the best to use. When I have the TV set to output PCM the audio seems louder but the Dolby light on the front of the bar is not lit. When I have the TV set to Bitstream the soundbar volume drops but the Dolby light is lit.
2) Currently I have the Firestick plugged directly to the TV. Is it best to have the Firestick connected directly to the TV and use HDMI arc or plug it into the Soundbar?

Both questions are just trial and error me thinks. Which options sound best and which are most convenient? Sound wise there shouldn’t be a huge difference either way but experiment and find out and let us know!
