Another tube vs ss question

So I'm kicking around buying myself a Christmas present or two and wanted the forum's opinion on a couple of things.

First I'm considering replacing my B&K M200 Sonata's with a tube amp but not sure if 35 watts is enough to drive my SDA 1C's adequate or if I need more to compete. I don't play my music crazy loud but occasionally it's nice to crank it.

Second I've been looking at a few pre's such as Jolida Fusion, Belles 21a and Primaluna Prologue3. Would I be happy with any of these or is one a standout?

    Personally , I wouldn’t replace the sonatas .....
    They have enough current to arc weld .....

    That's what concerns me about replacing them. They really do have a tremendous handle on low registers at extremely low levels to really high. You can hear the musicians finger as he pulls then releases the string of a bass guitar.

    I would start looking into acquiring the Belles 21a.

    no sir. I have heard them before and out of the list of contenders? This one stood out to me as the top choice. Very clean, dynamic, quiet with lots of detail without any piercing of the ear. Just a very nice sounding, clean pre. I would not mind one in my system.

    Thanks Tom. I've been seriously eyeing that and the Jolida Fusion as they have the XLR out's that I want. The Jolida has a remote but since most of the time I'm using my CA 851N I can use it for volume control and muting. Not sure if that's a good idea but it works.

    The upgrades aren't that expensive and they bring it to the next level. IIRC, it's 4 caps that really make the difference and one other component.

    For a pre with XLR outs (fully balanced) I recommend the BAT VK-51SE for sale here on the forum. It's pricey, but you won't find a better pre for the price. Here is the listing:

    It will be the last pre-amp you will need, if you are willing to spend the money.

    Out of the pre-amps you listed, I recommend the Bell's, however.

    Keep the Sonata's, concentrate on just a tube pre for now.

    Interesting timing on this thread....I currently run a Cary SLP 03 pre and wonder if the Belles a21 pre would have better synergy with my Belles 150a amplifier? Just thinking out loud....
