Stereo sounds so good

It has been on since Thursday night, and is definitely warmed up. Currently playing classical string quartet music, and I am in heaven. Later I will switch to some form of rock, and that will also be heavenly. Once the night is over the stereo will be powered off until next weekend.

How can you not have music on for five days?!?
And which strings pieces are you enjoying?

Also, if I am not seriously planted in front of the stereo listening to it for hours it isn’t turned on. It uses as much electricity idling as it does playing, and I try to keep my electric bill close to zero.

Mine's close to zero -- and you get a bit more sunshine than we do here.
    Just sayin'. ;)

But, yeah, everything here is turned off when not in use, as well. I've turned into my father as I've aged. He would turn off a light if someone else walked out of a room, if only for a moment. Or, at least, it seemed like it. :p

It is winter, and raining. Not much solar is generated. In the spring, summer, and fall the stereo generates so much heat that the AC has to run. When both the stereo and AC are on it uses more electricity than the solar generates.

Would a less demanding "background" system offend your ears? I have my HT/2 ch playing most of the time. It is not as good as my main system and I even sit and listen to it sometimes. The main system is in the bedroom and I don't listen to it much as I don't want to become a "bed tuber".

My second stereo and HT system fits that scenario, but I don’t spend much time in that room.

Nice house!! Would you happen to have a recording studio in one end of it? I watch a lot of Live From Daryl's House and your house sure looks a lot like Daryl's. :)
