How to get Signa S2 to respond to Charter or Vizio remote?

HDMI ARC based volume control is a bust. The Vizio M quantum only "sees" the soundbar sometimes. It's passing the audio along, but no volume control. And, for optical, Vizio only sends a fixed output level.
It appears the S2 has neither a programming code associated with it or an IR learning mode that the other Polk soundbars have. It appears the Charter remote only uses programming codes and doesn't have an IR learning mode either.
Has anyone found a workaround to use the Charter remote? I really don't want to have to get a Harmony remote for my mom to just control the soundbar's volume.

Ugh. I wish someone had an answer. I just got the signa 2 and have Charter.

If your TV is equipped with HDMI ARC then any remote that can control the TV will operate the Signa S2.
