Never knew that kind of thing existed either. :o

I think Fisher was trying to corner the market on everything during that time.
Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.

Nice find. ;) I'm sure you'll WIN it doc! CEC produced. Made in Japan vs. China. Belt-drive TT.

In case it needs a new stylus :p

"The Fisher DAC-145 DAC 145 DAC145 turntable was fitted with a Fisher MG-09 MG09 phono cartridge and a Fisher ST-09D ST09D needle stylus. A photo of the stylus replacement is supplied above. The stylus features a conical diamond for long playing life and good rendition of voice and music. The color of the stylus varies. Please verify and use this as a guide only since the cartridge and stylus may have been changed through the years."

well, the seller knows that the next owner would want to have the option to select the appropriately synergistic interconnects of his/her/their choice.

That is creativity to the max. Have to wonder if it knows there is an LP on? I doubt you can switch on the fly.

It appears this unit originally sold on the bay for $150. Both listings mention the belt fell off.

I thought CDs had to be in the dark when played. What happens when you turn on the light or the sun hits it?

There have been some 'pure play' CD changers with smoked plastic lids like this Fisher. I know Technics (Panasonic) had one; I had a dump-find example for a while -- a long, long time ago.

    fvyx4w42axxo.png
    7ym6qivahvel.png
(borrowed images from the interwebs, not the one that I had)

Some ambient light can be tolerated by a CD player''s laser/detector 'system' -- I am sure there are folks that know far more on the topic than I. I just have some experience from workin' on balky ones under fluorescent bench lighting. :|

They tried, but there was no room for the clock.
