Never knew that kind of thing existed either.
I think Fisher was trying to corner the market on everything during that time. Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them. -

well, the seller knows that the next owner would want to have the option to select the appropriately synergistic interconnects of his/her/their choice.

Certainly no chance of anything going wrong there.

That is creativity to the max. Have to wonder if it knows there is an LP on? I doubt you can switch on the fly.
It appears this unit originally sold on the bay for $150. Both listings mention the belt fell off.

I thought CDs had to be in the dark when played. What happens when you turn on the light or the sun hits it?
-
There have been some 'pure play' CD changers with smoked plastic lids like this Fisher. I know Technics (Panasonic) had one; I had a dump-find example for a while -- a long, long time ago.
(borrowed images from the interwebs, not the one that I had)
Some ambient light can be tolerated by a CD player''s laser/detector 'system' -- I am sure there are folks that know far more on the topic than I. I just have some experience from workin' on balky ones under fluorescent bench lighting.
