    I’m of two minds...

Had the Traeger smoked turkey a couple of times at least. It’s good. It’s juicy, but... the smokey taste interferes with the overall impression. I prefer a carefully baked turkey (so that it is equally juicy), with stuffing from inside the bird! 😬

Back in the mid 60's a young lad, probably 10-12ish, when I'd have a friend over in the summer, we had a real treat when we were allowed to fire up the oven and bake our own Swanson TV Dinners for a late night snack.

I had a friend that used apple wood to smoke turkeys and he could do about 15-20 at a time in his home made smoker which originally was a commercial bread oven. The turkeys were first soaked in brine for a few days and would be done tg morning and brought home still warm from the smoker. By far the very best tg turkeys I've ever had.

Marvin, have you tried one of these birds? Price isn't bad at all, thinking about getting one.

yes i have, that's why the family forced me into getting another. I was too lazy to cook one, didn't want to spend that amount, even suggested getting one from sams at $1.98 lb. that was shot down fast, I even told them it was butterball.

FWIW. this is what I like to do to a turkey. We have a tradition of 'smoking' a turkey thus every year for Memorial and/or Labor Day (i.e., to bookend the summer).

If you don't have the time, I tried spatchcock turkey a few times both smoking and in the oven. Outside of spatchcock being a fun word to throw around at Holidays, spatchcock turkey or even chicken can cut the time in 1/2.

Salisbury Steak was invented by French guy named The Duke of Earl, he also invented the Sandwich Islands therefore islands are un-American too. Furtehermore Antioch was a city in Grease so I guess that makes Illinois American?
