What’s the Lip-sync FIX?

I have the Polk Magnifi mini sound system connected to a Samsung 4K Q60 through the HDMI/ARC cable. I called Samsung who told me to contact Polk customer care after setting the TV’s “Digital Output Audio Delay” to 0 and the “Dolby Atmos Compatibility” Off. Note: if I put the “Digital Output Audio” from Dolby Digital to PCM, No Lip-Sync issue.

Sometimes, there’s an issue when you run video via HDMI, and audio via RCA, where the audio and video get “out of sync”. This is possibly due to a lag in video processing, whereas the audio processes faster, but I’m not sure.

At any rate, this feature allows you to slow the audio down to match (sync) to the video.

Why not just keep it on PCM then? It's not like the soundbar is actually surround sound, it just uses 2.1 information along with SDA anyway.

Maybe review your TV's manual for lip sync adjustment capability and post the model number here at least. (Might also wipe the dribble from your chin, and tie your shoes so you don't trip on the way the table where your chicken nuggets and smiley face potatoes are waiting.)

If there aren't any controls in your TV, there may be a firmware update for your TV that could address the issue.
