Command Bar will not sync with sub (out of warranty)

Title says it all, have tried every process described online to sync the bar with the sub but it always fails. Have carried out the factory reset on the bar also but that had no affect. Polk customer service in the uk also couldn't resolve.
Cant believe its a hardware fault as both bar and sub power on and display the right leds. Whats frustrating is there are no diagnostics or third party tools to debug further, even to determine if its the bar or the sub, or both. I noted a number of comments re corrupted firmware so not sure if that can be remedied or reflashed.
If anyone managed to resolve this or at least identify the cause, I'd love to know. Thanks.

Should mention the bar plays audio fine, just no sub.

I wish I could help you, but alas I can't.Political Correctness'.........defined

hardly at all. Your best bet is to call Polk CS and go from there. There had been many problems with the many different sound bars across the market.
