Ummmm.....we already have 4 threads going about this. Not to mention this is the Vintage Speaker section.Political Correctness'.........defined
"A doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical minority and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a t-u-r-d by the clean end."
President of Club Polk -
Seems about right -- it's a pretty big deal, isn't it?
-
No big deal...both Stu and SDA are Vintage...they count too.
Stu enjoy your retirement.
BTW speaking of Stu...back in 96 I called Polk Audio and asked to talk to Mathew...he was out of office...so I asked to speak to a quality manager...that is when I met Stu...I explained to Stu a systemic quality issue with their ($300) PSW125 sub speaker magnet cover. So he ship to me FREE an ($800) PSW300. All I had to do was ship (prepaid) my defective PSW125 back to him.
please note the PSW125 model might have been model PSW150, memory doesn't serve me well on this one. -
Only 118lbs? I was expecting to be near 200
-
I'm sure they could bolt a 50 pound weight internally for you 😊- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit.

I wonder if these have the common grounded amplifier Achilles heel/requirement of the old SDA's?

no according to Polk. But honestly time will tell, one amp from Marantz will not work and it is not common ground. Get your read on it was already discussed many times in the many threads. -

to wit:
https://forum.polkaudio.com/discussion/comment/2533012#Comment_2533012A Marantz AVR or pre/pro, Marantz amp and Marantz SA10. It was mentioned to me that the L800 will not work with the PM10, but I don't know why. Seeing as Polk didn't take it to RMAF I have to believe what I was told is true.
That's what I was told.
Strange. I wonder if the user manual will have a small list of things it's not compatible with? Will using a PM10 hurt anything or does it just not produce sound? If it hurts something who's responsible when something super esoteric has been hooked up to these that hasn't been tested and something breaks? Is there legal jargon that says use these speakers with dual mono designs at your own risk? So many questions.
I don't know about all y'all, but I am awfully curious about the backstory on that "one amp from Marantz". But then again, I am a scientist for a reason -- I always want to know why (or more accurately, how) things are the way they are.

The scientist would write a grant proposal to study the health effects of the multiple self-induced electro-shock therapies.Don't take experimental gene therapies from known eugenicists.
