Pretty much sums it up, but we can't just blame the younger generations as I see adults' doing the exact same things. It's like everyone is hypnotized by this little box.
I don't allow it in my house, especially when I have a dinner/party. Nobody wants to watch you stare at your phone the whole night. If they do, I simply do not invite them back again.
Everything is a tool of sorts, can be used for good, or evil. Much like a shovel, a hammer, gun, car, knife.....it's people who abuse the tools.
If you've never read the short story Anyone Here from Utah? by Michael Swanwick (which I know I've mentioned before ) -- you should.
IMO, of course.
