My first job, wayback when . . . started in 5th grade and lasted for several years.

Unlike the photograph, each and every newspaper got put between the front door and storm door, unless directed otherwise. Christmas tips were the bomb!

Oh, Listen here mister. We got no way of understandin' this world. But we got as much sense of this bird flyin in the sky. Now there is a lot that bird don't know, but it don't change the fact that the world is happening to him all the same. When I started working I pushed paper for a life insurance company for 29 years, got laid off from that. But I landed on my feet pushing paper for medical insurance at a mental health facility. Now for the remaining four years of my work life, I'm a HR Assistant at this same facility, pushing yet more papers.

Due to HIPPA regulations, I can't show you any pictures. But up until last Wednesday at about 3:00pm, I spent 43 years fixing broken smiles. Since that moment last week, I am now officially retired and enjoying the fact that every day is now a Saturday! I think I'm going to like this retirement thing! :)

The aerospace industry was an early adopter of using CAD. One of my primary design and analytical tools. When I moved to Michigan, the automotive industry was a few years behind, and there was a huge market for instructors. So I taught evening CAD classes for years.

Unigraphics, now called NX, was what we used. Still in use today, among the software of choice for the automotive industry!

I miss flying. I miss the sound of the accumulators dumping oil into the GE-T58 turbines to start them. I miss the smell of JP8. (I was a Marine stationed at Edward's AFB, so we had to use JP8 instead of JP5 IIRC).

That CAD shot of the turbine compressor looks pretty cool Verb!

I hear ya brother! Funny where life takes you, as my first love is Aerospace. As a kid I built many planes and rockets, flew kites, you name it, anything that flew I loved. The space program, as many kids during the Apollo era, Space shuttle, inspired me down that path. Loved cars too, tinkered with em, mostly cause they needed repairs, with some hot rodding and customizing too. Repainted my first car, a '73 Nova while I was in high school, in the garage!

I design cars/trucks now, which I love as well, but there will always be a special place in my heart for all things aerospace!
