There was an audio show, Axpona or something, in the middle of it.

Man, I don't know what I was thinking driving the smaller car up there. I saw the deal, then went into drive first, think second mode. The seller actually came up with the brilliant idea , and brought out a BIG hammer. The car was an old car cheap car that we bought to get by with for a short while but that thing ran longer than we thought it would. That's the only reason we still had it. That car was good for a $1000 trade in on our Mazda CX-5. That car paid for itself.

Anyway, the guy wanted it gone as he had already bought a 75"! I think that size had just come out back then.

You guys are fricking nuts! People think I'm nuts for going 2-6 hour drives for stuff.
Heck I've done several 2-6 hour trips with a good friend to help him with large speakers that just seem to gravitate to him (khorns, concert grands, ADS m30's, big Altecs, Wharfdale W90's etc.). I think it's a great way to spend a day off plus the trip involves good food, a microbrewery and parts of the planet that I'd never seen before and probably won't see again.
Yes, I've stopped to smell the roses before myself. On a trip down to Terre Haute, IN to pick up some speakers I took some pictures with my smartphone. When I was younger I used to work in one of those one hour photo places in the Mall and used to shoot some film photography of my own. I just wanted to see what was possible with my old and not so special Moto X 2nd Gen smartphone.

Not bad for the old Moto. However, my new Google Pixel 3a phone shoots much nicer pictures.

  • @daddyjt I’m starting to check CL in other cities as well. I also think about taking a shortcut and grabbing a last minute flight and rent a car to drive back; then I push pause and realize the economics don’t make sense.
