IF it were me......and it's been awhile....
in the value priced Pre arena, I'd look at a vintage Integra or Parasound . I've had a couple come through here that were pretty awesome. Further on down the food chain, NAD. I'd take and NAD over Adcom....but that's just personal preference.
I wouldn't overlook and older CJ tube pre (PV7 comes to mind)....or MELOS SHA-1. However, not sure what the market is on those is these days...
