WHAT'S WRONG WITH MY LSI-C center speaker??

Hi all, I am new to Polk and I have spent much on putting together an audio/HT setup of LSI-9s in the front LSI-7s for rears , the LSI-C of course and the PSW505. Anyway, my LSI-C is not giving out any sound except from the tweeter. Both woofers are stone-dead!!! What is wrong? I has both metal posts installed and I am doing a single wire setup. I thought it was my amp that had blown, but when I hooked the center up to either of my front channels the same result with only the tweeter giving off sound happened. PLEASE ANYONE....any ideas? Thanks, Michael.

Could the woofers be blown? Doubtful because you would have had to play them very loud and distorted with a low power amp to do that. My guess is that something may have come loose inside. Have you dropped the center? A few very easy things you could do is listed below.
Pull the connecting bar off and re-install. (just for the heck of it.
There are 4 screws holding the connector plate on. Remove them, pull it out 2" or so and look at the wire connections and circuit board to see if anything looks obviously wrong.
Remove the 4 screws and carefully pull out one driver at a time and make sure the wires are still connected.
If you remove a driver you can disconnect it and test by measuring the resistance (it should be about 4 to 8 ohms).
There is not much more going on inside there. Obviously be careful not to poke a screwdriver through the drivers or whatever.

My personal quest is to save to world of bad audio, one thread at a time. -
be careful with taking the drivers out, someone was having problems with an lsi9 and cracked the finish when he was taking the drivers out. im willing to bet u would mind if the finish was mesed up on your speakers so just be alittle careful with takin the woofers out, sometimes they dont just fall right out.

Give Polk a call they have some excellent and friendly techs. Let us know what you find out.
