Remote control not working and other problems

I have the SB1 Omni soundbar and the SB2 rechargeable speaker. I have had issues in the past, but it had been a long stretch of everything working pretty well, without having to reconnect to the Internet...until this week. Suddenly my remote stopped working and had to use the sound bar to control the volume. Whenever I tried to use the remote, once it was powered on, any button I pressed on the remote would just turn the volume down to zero. I was really frustrated speaking to technical service overseas, asked to be connected to the US, but then didn’t have much time to troubleshoot. Polk is supposed to get back to me soon and hopefully they do…
Since I’ve invested into 2 speakers and a sub woofer, I hope this works out, but my frustration level is high! Polk mentioned they haven’t seen this issue before in regards to the remote. Also, after talking with technical service I had to re-connect my speakers to Wi-Fi and now I’m having issues with songs playing on and off and it seems the sound quality is off as well...
If anyone has any suggestions please let me know.

  • Kind of same problem. If we just watch one show and don't change volume eventually can't move sound up or down. Have to shut TV and soundbar (Signa 2) off for about a minute. Seems to be a chronic problem from what I have read.

Hold down power button for 10 seconds to force-reset the sound bar. It's a pain but I've found it's the only way to get the remote to work again. Unfortunately, the sound bar will need to be re-setup for wireless networking and any other remotes programmed for volume, mute, power, etc.

Subwoofer static causes bass "thumping" too--I have to turn off the sub at night in order to sleep. Plus the sub and sound bar don't seem to have an auto power-off after a certain amount of inactivity.

Also, can't wire satellite speakers--only wireless. Such a bad design the Polk Omni SB1 (and Plus, which I have) is!
