Harmony 350 or 665 remote

Hello,
The volume buttons for my Onkyo PR-SC886 remote are giving out so I need a universal remote. How are either of these? Compatibility with Oppo BDP-103D and my seldom used JVC VCR is listed as well as my Outlaw 1050. But can it be programmed for both an AV pre-amp and a receiver at the same time. Are these good choices or should I look at others.

I wonder why it's always the volume button that stops working?

Have you cleaned the pads and circuit board yet?

Yes it will do everything you need. Highly customizable. I use this one, which is an upgrade if you have a smart phone:

I have a couple of the 350's, because I didn't like the small screen on the 650, and prefer using just buttons. Very happy with them. Just depends on how many components you need to control.

Alright! This worked. A little IPA (isopropyl alcohol, not India Pale Ale) with a Q-tip did the job. I found some take apart instructions online and only broke off a few tiny plastic bits getting the remote apart. It went back together with a little difficulty, but now it works fine, volume and all. With a little practice, I could get a job at the Onkyo factory. Thanks, FestYboy.

But if I still decide to get a Harmony remote, do they handle the menus and set up functions well?

Yep! You can fine tune it to your heart's delight, but it usually does all the major functions without much extra effort.
