Just curious if a set of Can Polk SDS SRS be upgraded to a 1.2TL and is it worth it or would I be better off just looking for a set of TL's

I suppose if you wanted to , the original SRS can be upgraded, but the only thing you could use from them would be the passive radiators., and I am not even certain on that. Best to look for a set of TL’s, or upgrade the tweeters to RDO 194’s and do the crossovers in what you have. The Gear... Gotcha. Sorry for the re-post. I didn't see this topic already covered in an older thread.Home Theater & Listening

I may someday hunt down a set of 1.2s but I have about 500 hours on my SRS’s that are completely modded and running vr3 crossovers. They are bad to the bone. I would think twice before frankensteining a good set of SRS’s. Just upgrading the original or passing them on and getting a set of 1.2s would be the best playMain System

They still wouldn't be 1.2TL's as the cabinets are built differently.Political Correctness'.........defined

Doing some research from images here I can see the internal construction is significant. The TL's are a lot more open between the drivers. Mine have solid panel with a square hole between each level.Home Theater & Listening

I believe they are also different cabinet material as well. -
Different bracing, different material and different internal wall design.Political Correctness'.........defined
