Worth pursuing?

The grilles reminded me of the LS-50/70/90’s but I’m not as familiar with that family...

S series? Same era as the LS speakers, but a lower line.

Not S series. Those have the Polk logo on the lower right.

Depending on how tall they are I vote for LS-70 or 90.
    For example

Now that I look closely, I think you are right @tonyp063 - the perspective in the ad makes them look a little more rectangular than tapered on the sides. That's what what was throwing me off. But the grilles are pretty telling. After looking at other photos, I'm thinking they're 90's.

I've heard good things about these, but haven't had personal experience. Should I run them to ground?

I have no direct experience with that series. There are folks here who think well of them.
I guess it depends on how much they want for them.
They do have a very simple crossover, so a refresh would not be too pricey.

They look like 90s. Very clean.
The angle of the pic is the issue.
I love mine but I do toy with selling them for a pair of 705s since they are so cheap now.

LS-50's are pretty decent speakers, especially for what they go for on the used market.

So your first post is calling out a respected, long standing member... Good job. And if you look at the list and factory schematic for your speakers, they do not use mw6600 MWs.

If you have those in your cabinets, they are replacements and incorrect.

Umm there's truth to his post. SDA1 & SDA1 signatures came with mw6600 and or mw6501. The SDA1a came with mw6501 in all postions afaik.
My SDA1 signatures I have are mw6600 in all postions EXCEPT dimensional speaker was mw6501

    Also confirmed on gimpods site

Used this site for reference (vintage model section). That being said, if the official Polk forum is incorrect, an addendum needs to be made pronto (if just to keep me from looking like an arse ;) )

4 months ago you wouldn't of thought that with the multitudes of them on the auction site. I bet there was 20 mw6600 for sale. I was going to put some of mine on there but not at the basement price they were selling for.
