Resurrecting Old Threads??

When you're reading an old thread and have a question, what is the proper way to ask? Do you ask the question in that thread and resurrect it? Start a whole new thread with a link to the old thread? Or just pm the person you want the answer from. I remember resurrecting one of Skip's threads about acoustic panels not long after joining here and I kinda got the feeling that was frowned upon. Or maybe everyone hadn't warmed up to me yet.

Either one will get you yelled at on some forums. Probably by the same smarmy 32yr old forum monitor, irritable because his mom's late delivering the pizza rolls to the basement.
Personally, I don't think there's any statue of limitations (nor a statute) on posting to an older thread. Agree, if it's relevant, it's relevant. Especially if it's been a good, informative thread.
If it's about cables, post new, because you probably won't be able to find any old ones.
It's perfectly fine, however, to ask whether an item's been sold in a thread from 2007.I disabled signatures. -
