Quick comparo of a CS1000p vs CSiA6

Options
Making a demo vid to maybe sell it so I thought why not compare it to the newer generation. The differences were obvious and eye opening. 1000p sounds like it's behind a thick curtain compared to the 1000p, but when the beat drops lookout, the CSiA6 looks like a total wimp. Granted it's iPhone video but you get the idea.

Honestly, cs1000p probably needs a crossover refresh.
    - Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit.

The above could contribute to the sound. I've had to repair a couple of crossovers on the older RT stuff I had.

Myself, I liked the LSiM706 over the CS1000p. The LSiM is no slouch on the low end but has a more detailed upper end.

    Agree. I love my Cs1000p. I compared the Cs400i & Cs400 against the Cs1000p & i much enjoyed the Cs400i with a decent floor subwoofer over the Cs1000p.

Interesting! I was able to compare the CS1000p to the CS400i also and the difference was not as dramatic as I had read. More low end but if turned up too high the sound would thicken and muddy.

A good sub is a must and a good LCR will anchor the bass to the screen. The LSiM703/LSiM706c combo set correct is good at that trick.

I had a 400i once, that was my experience as well.

I replaced my speaker cables on my CS1000p and heard a difference both times that I did it. I also upgraded the tweeter from the SL-6502 to the SL-6506 right after I bought it.

I used to have a CS-400 and the CS1000p is basically the same center, but with a pair of powered woofers on the ends with the power port. I have always admired the bass capabilities of Polks with the power ports. The CS-400 was set to large so there would be no crossover and I NEVER had any issues with the speaker being overwhelmed or overloaded by movie soundtracks with lots of bass and dynamics. When I won a pair of SDA-SRS 3.1TL’s on eBay a few years ago and heard how much better they were compared to my SDA-1C’s I got the upgrade bug. That’s when I decided to find me a CS-1000p. I had already swapped out the tweeter in the CS-400 for the SL-6506. So I put that tweeter in the CS-1000p and eventually sold the CS-400 to a very appreciative eBayer! Even on surround music the CA-1000p sounds great to my ears, never calling attention to itself.
