Winter Detailing

Man,
the Wife and I went to the Poconos last weekend and it was -8 and it snowed. Needless to say the Durango got smashed with Salt and filth. I'm the kinda person who keeps a as close to perfectly clean vehicle at all times. I have a garage and I'll go out at night and rub a fender or the hood if I feel it needs it LOL.
Anyway it's been to damn cold to wash it in the driveway and I actually been very busy with work so I finally got some time this weekend to give a clean.
I'm using new to me products by Adam's Polishes. I'm an X detailer from my College years and was trained by a few different companies on how to detail a car. I've used some of the industries best chemicals and I gotta say Adam's stuff is legit. Not only do they work very well or at the highest level, they also smell fantastic so working with them is a complete pleasure.
One stand out product is their spray wax or detail spray. I have the Cars and Coffee special edition and man does it work amazing. It's a drying agent plus spray wax all in one. You apply it to a wet car and then dry it with soft micro fiber towels. So you get to dry and spray wax all in one step.
Another great product out of many I have is the interior Leather cleaner. It's a all purpose type cleaner safe to use on all interior surfaces. It also smells really good.
If you enjoy cleaning your own car and would like high end products to do so then I strongly suggest trying out Adam's Polishes line. I have several products and none of them I felt was just ok or wasn't very good. They all are top notch products.

Adam's is good stuff, I use quite a bit of their product. Waiting for spring to arrive to try out their new Ceramic spray coating which just came out. It is back ordered 2-4 weeks right now. If you drive in the winter you'll want to ceramic coat it. I've tried their detail spray and it's ok but, I prefer Kenotec detail spray with better shine and easier to remove.

If your paint is in detailed condition you can't beat their H20 G&G combined with Ceramic Boost for an insane shine. Your paint has to be in corrected condition for those 2 products to work properly or they're pretty much useless. I'm like you I love to detail my cars especially since both of mine are black. Nothing looks worse than a neglected black car.

Adams makes some great stuff for sure.
Detailing in the winter is tough but worth it. Salt is such a necessary evil.

Except for the winter months my paint is always in detailed condition. I keep her in the garage and wash and or wax every week. This winter I did notice some tar and rail rust like stuff on the lower panels behind the tire areas which are going to need a clay or mineral spirits cleaning then polish then wax.
I'm absolutely going Ceramic this spring. I'm excited to try it out. Thats a new product to me as I'm old school carnauba .
    Paint looks fantastic.

Our red rav looks Grey pretty much 4-5 months out of the year so does our white rdx. If it's not too cold that they shut down wash bays it's snowing or freezing rain out. So let's just say they don't get washed often during winter.

Fellow Dodge brother !! I'm planning on a Challenger in the near future. I'm thinking SRT or Shaker.I'm rocking a R/T Durango. I missed out by 3 months on the SRT Durango as my lease ran out in July of 2017.

Adam's has some spray Iron Remover for rail dust. Once you ceramic you really won't need wax anymore. H20 & Ceramic Boost will maintain the coating.

My Corvette was ceramic coated last year. So much easier to clean. I even took it on a road trip, did not wash it until i got back to Illinois from Minnesota over the summer. It has a kot of dried on bugs and stuff. Rinsed right off. In the past if i did that. I would have to scrub, clay bar.... you all know the routine. I had a dealer put systemX on it.

I ran stock with just a K&N Drop in Air filter 14.1 @ 96mph. I think I can pull a 14.0 or possibly a 13.9 stock. She is the fastest R/T recorded at the track. Everyone else I know including everyone on the Dodge Durango forum ran much slower than me. BUT I got tons of 1/4 mile experience as this is my 3rd vehicle I took down the track.

I would absolutely hate that. I would seek out a local detailer for at least a wash N wax. At least you would get some protection during those harsh winter months.
