2nd blown tweeter using different amps

I have a pair of monitor 70’s. My left tweeter had no sound so I checked the wires with another speaker and got sound, so I knew it was the tweeter. I figured I must of cranked my Onkyo receiver into clipping, blowing the tweeter. I bought a new tweeter and hooked the speakers up to my carver m 1.5. I played it moderately loud for a bit and noticed that same tweeter had no sound.after awhile. I know I didn’t drive that amp into clipping. Once again I hooked up another speaker to the tweeter wire and it worked. Do you think I got a bad tweeter or should replacing the crossover be the next step? Anyway of testing the crossover to see if it’s bad?

Check the resistor in the tweeter circuit.
