I know there are in the srs vs the 1.2 srs the cabinets are different in addition to everything else. Does anyone know if the SDA SRS 2’s are any different in regards to the cabinet?

Doubt the Cabinets changed, however the Woofers and Passive Radiators did

Here’s the reason I am wondering, I have been looking for some p/b versions and got the thought that I would just buy different drivers and a couple gimpod boards and be able to get a transformer and run monoblocks. The only difference at that point would be the passive which is made of unobtanium. Can’t locate much info on the passives so not sure how much of a difference they will make

The only real way to get 15" passives is to buy another set of speakers. You're more likely to win the lotto before you buy a pair from ebay. Also I know many people here have a search set up and ready and waiting and the passives would almost go for hundreds of dollars cheaper just to buy a set of speakers and sell off what you don't need

I have looked for any info on the pr differences to no avail. I think I will start collecting the parts and record how they sound as is before reworking the speakers. They sound good now, just bored and I don’t think this a huge expense to convert vs buying, shipping and updating another set. Probably sell some other equipment to fund some of this.

IF (big IF) you don't plan t0 power them with bridged amplifiers or some other non-common-ground arrangement, I'd be WAY more likely to just upgrade the caps and resistors, the SDA inductor, and (maybe) the other inductors, LEAVE them as blade/blade design.

Aside from the ability to use non-common-ground amplifiers, and a hint more overall system impedance (a non-issue for a quality amplifier) the SDA 1B--SRS 2 blade/blade speaker system is WONDERFUL sounding when given all the usual updates and typical repairs.

Agreed. I'd put my fully upgraded 2As against a comparably upgraded pair of 2Bs any day of the week, twice on Sunday.

I guess the goal is to run a non common ground pair of monoblock amps. They do sound great as is. There are a few people that think the sound is better with a dreadnaught with or without monoblocks.

end of quest. Polk is out of 6510's and is not planning on ordering any more due to tooling costs. They have 6511's and there may be an option down the road in a year or so.

What, that sucks. Time to REALLY start hoarding our drivers.

Thanks but I think a different plan altogether is probably the direction. Not in a big hurry and who knows, maybe the new drivers won’t take that long to appear.

And they'll be mislabeled, and they'll tell you anything on the phone or via email to sell you something.

Yes and they have made other speakers
Like peerless like tweeters. They've also made other clone like drivers for Polk i believe and others.
