RT55i Tweeter -- Damaged

Hi everyone:
I'm a newbie here and I've been browsing around looking for information...
I have a pair of RT55i's and the tweeter on one speaker is shot...
my questions--since I need to replace the damaged tweeter:
Should I replace it with the same component?
Since I'm replacing one tweeter, should I replace both?
Can I replace both with a better (newer) set of tweeters?
Can I replace both tweeters with a brand--other than Polk?
I use these speakers as my fronts in my HT set up, if that helps any...any comments/words of wisdom would be most appreciated.
Many thanks

Welcome to CP,
1 Yes you should replace it with the same part
2 Dont replace both unless there is an upgraded part
3 Not likely, but I could be wrong
4 NO, dont use another brand, the crossover was designed with the TS parameters, impedance curve etc of that driver.
Use the service and parts button at the top to find the part. Make sure to tell them you are a member to receive a discount.Graham -
