While not super happy with the outcome, not totally disappointed with it either
Hopefully, with some power sharing, everyone can chill out a little, and cut back on the vitriol

Now I want to hear "Gimme Shelter" and "Monkey Man".

There's a lot of folks that do not seem to like a booming economy and record low unemployment. I'll bet they smoke pot too.Political Correctness'.........defined
"A doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical minority and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a t-u-r-d by the clean end."

Im super anxious to see some progress made in the areas of healtchcare costs, education, and infrastructure....I mean, after listening the the leaders of the house, congress, and executive branch yesterday, Im fully expecting some solutions come soon.

Too bad infrastructure was not brought to fruition before the Corp tax cuts. And because of the tax cuts infrastructure will never be a thing, which is too bad.
But yes, healthcare is important to everybody as is education.

I'm not the only one who has wishful but unlikely thoughts. Your not going to see solutions. Your going to see stagnation, and positioning for the next election.
Pelosi has already said her main goal is to stop the GOP. Stop what exactly ? She doesn't say specifically. Stop the lowest unemployment we've had in decades ? Stop the lowest number of minorities employed in half a century ? Stop a booming economy ? Stop trying to enforce our borders or immigration laws ? Stop destroying Isis ? Stop making trade deals ?
Which part of that does she want to stop....put the brakes on ?
Infrastructure, education, healthcare.....all important things, but I doubt any progress will be made in the next 2 years mainly because of the very different views both parties hold. One side believes everything should be free, that a bigger centralized government should supply these things for free. While the other side wants to keep a free market but figure out ways to make those things cheaper for everyone.
Subsidizing things only makes them more expensive. You subsidize college tuition, and that tuition will cost more money. You subsidize healthcare, that too will cost more money....as we've all learned from the last fiasco.
Yet neither side has any idea about the 20 trillion already on the country's credit card. About the 100+ trillion in unfunded liabilities. One side wants to add to that substantially, by offering up more freebies, more subsidies. The other side thinks they can still hold the line on spending, but has no ideas to cut anything. That represents one side wishing for a quicker death financially, the other side seeks a more slow death. We need an ax to the spending, not a scalpel.
None of that matters though, the concentration is always on the next election cycle, the control of the power and money, solutions to actual problems is way down on the totem pole of concerns.

Yup.
You know gets to be Speaker of the House?, the person who can raise the most money for the that majority Party. Not the one person who will work to get important issues bills pushed through to the Senate.
This whole government on the hill has been almost a continuous job re-election campaign employment objective. How do they do anything for the people when their main goals are how they're going to stall the other parties plans ( when one house member presents a plan to help some group of people or businesses).
I thought Obama was going to make some needed change in our government but he did just like all the others before him. Not much except the affordable health care act. And my wife's insurance immediately sent her a notice the premium was going to cost a good chunk more.
I'd LOVE to see term limits for Senators.
Our President can only be there for 8 years max, so why not Senators and House members too. Nancy Pelosi has been up there for 30+ years. Give me a common sense break. I think they have ridiculous rules.
Let's have a President be allowed to run EVERY 4 years forever just like the others get to do.
How about elections every 6 years so some "working for the people" can get done instead of continuous fundraisers for party coffers.
Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.
